See a measurement revolution at Quality Expo

Quality expo logoFrom September 22nd to 24th, Renishaw Inc will exhibit at Quality Expo in Rosemont, Illinois, so we asked US National Sales Manager, Denis Zayia, about his message to visitors attending the show.

“At the current time everyone knows that the economy is tough, but this gives organizations a great opportunity to look at their current processes and make changes that will benefit them both now, and when business improves. Products like our revolutionary REVO five-axis scanning system can be retrofitted to existing CMMs and take hours off inspection times, without any loss in accuracy. Anything that automates processes, boosts throughput, reduces work-in-progress and gives greater process control has to be considered.”

Measurement times reduced 50% with REVO

REVO five-axis measurement system for CMMsWe’ve been talking about the benefits of REVO for some time now, but breakthrough technology of this magnitude needs a great deal of education and clear evidence of the claimed benefits. Many users of the product are protective of their processes, due to the competitive advantages that they are gaining, or commercial sensitivities over the parts being inspected. However, we are now seeing some great case studies for REVO, including TURBOCAM who have seen measurement times reduce by 50%, plus incredible reductions in programming times from days to just hours, on a range of turbomachinery components.

An application study at GE Oil and Gas in Florence, Italy, has also just been completed, where Renishaw has retrofitted a REVO system to a DEA Global CMM, reducing inspection times on a typical impeller by 4 times! We’ll be publishing this shortly.

Position feedback encoders

If you are attending Quality Expo, but your interests are more in the area of motion control, then you should consider attending Renishaw’s free 45-minute presentation about encoder technologies that is taking place in the Innovation Briefs Theater (Hall A, Booth #652). Entitled ‘Novel Sensing Technologies Enable Low Cost, Harsh Environment Position Sensors”, the talk takes place at 11am on Tuesday September 22nd.

So whether you’re looking for products to improve CMM measurement capability, raise productivity on CNC machine tools, or you are a designer looking for the latest in optical and magnetic encoders, then please visit us in booth #4935.
